Toughening process involves heating and quenching of glass panels horizontally to induce compression stress to the outer surfaces of glass where the core assumes a compensating tensions.
This process improves the glass strength against impact and thermal stress loads. Curved toughened glass is a safety glass which is approximately five times stronger than annealed glass.
Appropriate for using as safety glass because it shutters into small, blunt edged fragments, which reduce the risk of injury.
Glass panes should be drilled or edgeworked prior to toughening process. Therefore exact sizes should be determined before toughening process.
Can be used in balustrades, doors, shower cabins, partitions, furniture, cars, city furnitures, home appliances, and industrial
